The biker demons continue to attack the Buffybot as Willow and Xander, Tara and Anya spilt up and escape into the woods. Tara and Anya head back to the Magic Box where they will meet Willow and Xander with Dawn and Spike. Meanwhile, Buffy continues to fight inside her coffin.

Tara performs a spell to locate Willow and guide them with a small light. Back at the Magic Box, Willow breaks down, thinking that the spell didn't work. She wants to try the spell again but Xander tells her that the urn, the last one surviving, is destroyed. Willow sobs. "She's really gone."

While Spike searches for weapons and begins to move Dawn to a safer location, Buffy finally breaks free from the ground and her coffin. Confused and disoriented, Buffy wanders through the burning streets of Sunnydale, setting off a car alarm as she bumps into it. Spike knocks one of the demons off his bike and steals it to take Dawn to safety.

Buffy stumbles upon the demons and their impromptu party in the center of town, complete with entertainment, the Buffybot. The Buffybot sees the real Buffy right before is is pulled apart, tearing her arms and legs from her torso. The real Buffy screams before running away.

While running, Buffy passes by her friends without recognizing them. They follow her and find her huddled terrified against a wall, totally unaware of who she was and where she was. They realize that the spell did work and then realize that she had been trapped in her coffin and must be in shock. But her fighting instinct are able to take over when the lead demon attacks the group.

Buffy fights off the demons but again runs when Xander tries to go near her. The lead demon attacks the scoobies again but Tara saves Willow with the help of her ax. Buffy notices and recognizes the tower that she jumped from in the distance and starts to head toward it. Dawn and Spike find the broken Buffybot, who hints at Dawn that she had seen the other Buffy. Dawn runs to start looking for Buffy, leaving an upset Spike behind who doesn't know where she went.

Dawn finds Buffy looking over the edge of the tower, remembering her last moments there. Dawn pleads with her not to jump again, that she needs Buffy with her to survive, when the tower starts to collapse. Buffy seems to partially snap out of it and saves Dawn and herself, swinging to the ground on a nearby hanging rope.

Dawn embraces Buffy, realizing that she has her sister back, but Buffy's eyes don't reflect the same happiness as she stares ahead blankly.
