When Firefly was cancelled by FOX after only fourteen episodes were made, Joss declared that he would not let his unique vision of the future die. After talking to other networks to try and continue the story on the small screen, he could not find a home for the show anywhere. But as fate would have it, a bigger and better opportunity came along. With the help of the creative team at Universal, Joss was able to write and direct "Serenity", the silver screen version of Firefly. Premiering September 30th, 2005.
